+++ HYBRID-Veranstaltung +++
Veranstalter: Promotionskolleg der FH Dortmund
Ort: DASA Working World Exhibition, Dortmund & Online
Different worlds – and many points of connection. What role does communication play within science and academia? Why is it crucial to make one’s own findings accessible to the public? And what are successful ways to reach your audience?
At this year’s DART (Dortmund Applied Research and Transfer) symposium, we want to find answers to these questions. As young researchers from various fields of applied sciences and arts we want to invite you to find new and innovative ways of science communication. Applied sciences and arts focus on research questions that might have a direct impact on our lives – a great potential for successful science communication that will and needs to be heard.
The discussions will be enriched by inputs from renowned experts such as Prof. Dr. Antje Boetius (AWI, Max-Planck-Institute), well-known science slammers and the self-proclaimed "rock stars of science" from the podcast Methodisch inkorrekt!.
The hybrid conference will take place in Dortmund and online on the Virtual Reality platform Mozilla Hubs. By participating digitally, you can be part of the symposium from everywhere with internet access. And you even have the opportunity for proper networking, as you can meet up with the avatars of other participants. However, the free of charge participation on- and offline is limited! So do not hesitate and register now!
CALL FOR ENTRIES!
Doctoral students and other young researchers from all universities are invited to submit posters, videos, artwork, podcasts, performances, VR-installations, prototypes, comics and more. The call is open. Join the DART exhibition and present your work to a large group of young researchers in person at the DASA Working World Exhibition in Dortmund and online in Mozilla Hubs.
Please send us an abstract (max. 500 words) and up to 4 explanatory photos or sketches of your installation/prototype/model or a finished draft of your poster or a video, along with a short CV, by 3 October 2021 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions can be in English or German and will be peer reviewed.
On the day of the event, an expert jury will award a Science Communication Prize for Young Researchers.
If you have an idea for a submission and wish to discuss it beforehand, please contact us at dart(at)fh-dortmund.de or 0049 (0)231 9112 8154.
We are looking forward to your submissions and to an exciting exchange in Dortmund and online.
